Corruption Case filed against Madhav Nepal in Special Court

Nov 03, Kathmandu - A new corruption case has been filed at Nepal’s Special Court against former Prime Minister and Nepal Communist Party leader Madhav Kumar Nepal over the alleged improper registration of public land.

The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) filed the case, alleging irregularities in the transfer of public land in the Biratnagar area to private ownership through a Cabinet decision.

The CIAA says it found flaws in the process of registering the land in individuals’ names. The case is currently being reviewed for registration at the Special Court.

Nepal is also facing a separate corruption case related to the Patanjali land controversy, which is pending before the court.
