Indian PM Modi Commends Heroic Pilot Captain Smith Machchar for Exceptional Courage in Saving Passengers' Lives

Oct 04, Kathmandu - Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke with Captain Smith Machchar to personally commend his heroic actions and swift presence of mind, which successfully saved the lives of passengers during a critical emergency situation. 

The acknowledgment was shared in an official post by the Embassy of India in Nepal (⁠@IndiaInNepal⁠), featuring a video interaction between PM Modi and Captain Machchar, who appeared injured and recovering. 

During the call, Prime Minister Modi lauded the pilot’s heroism, remarking on the courage shown to protect lives. The video highlighted the sentiment that "Indians are not people who take lives," emphasizing the bravery and duty demonstrated in prioritizing passenger safety above all else.
