Nepal’s Stock Market Edges Up 0.26 Points in Final Trading Session of the Week

Oct 01, Kathmandu - Nepal’s stock market posted a marginal gain on Thursday, the final trading day of the week. The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index rose 0.26 points to close at 2,599.15.

Shares of 353 companies were traded, with 12.05 million shares changing hands in transactions worth Rs 4.89 billion. Share prices rose for 139 companies, fell for 128 and remained unchanged for 12.

Of NEPSE’s 13 sub-indices, eight declined, four posted modest gains and one remained unchanged.

Siddhartha Bank recorded the highest turnover at Rs 305.3 million, followed by Api Power at Rs 220 million and Hathway Investment at Rs 219.5 million.

Corporate Development Bank led the gainers, rising 9.35%. Emerging Nepal gained 7.71%, while Upper Mailung Khola climbed 7.58%.

Sayapatri Hydropower was the day’s biggest loser, falling 9.66%.
