Sep 29, Kathmandu - Former Gandaki Province minister Deepak Manange has joined the faction of former Nepali Congress chairman Sher Bahadur Deuba.

Dr. Shashank Koirala, coordinator of the faction’s General Convention Organizing Committee, welcomed Manange to the party today. Manange has also been appointed coordinator of the organizing committee for Manang district ahead of the upcoming convention.

He was previously affiliated with the CPN (Unified Socialist), led by Madhav Kumar Nepal. After leaving the party and joining the Congress, Manange was elected as an independent candidate from Manang Provincial Assembly constituency 2(B).

The move comes as the Nepali Congress establishment faction prepares for its 15th General Convention, scheduled to begin on the 18th. The Deuba faction is also preparing to hold a separate convention.
