Sep 27, Kathmandu - Floods and landslides following incessant rains have killed 12 people across the country since Ashwin 8 and left seven missing.

According to Shanti Mahat, spokesperson for the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority, six people have lost their lives in the last 24 hours alone. One person from Palpa, four from Baglung and two from Myagdi are missing. The authority has said that a preparedness and rescue team has been mobilized in coordination with the local administration, security agencies and local levels based on the weather forecast, identifying risk areas.

A separate advisory has been issued for tourists and trekkers as there is a possibility of snowfall along with heavy rain in the Himalayan region. Mahat said that continuous coordination is being done with the administration, police, local levels and agencies involved in disaster response in all 77 districts for risk management.
