Sep 17, Kathmandu - A recent scientific study involving over twenty international experts has concluded that human activities accelerating climate change played a significant role in the catastrophic floods and avalanches in the Nepal-China border region on Bhadra 10. The analysis indicates that the complex interplay of multiple factors triggered this natural disaster.

In the nearby Chinese region of Kerung, a destructive glacier avalanche caused the deaths of over 1,400 people, with more than 5,000 still missing. The disaster swept away villages, roads, and bridges around the Bhote Koshi and Trishuli rivers in Rasuwa and Nuwakot districts, causing widespread devastation.
