Sep 17, Kathmandu - U.S. President Donald Trump is set to discuss the strategic approach towards Iran following recent hostilities, in a high-level meeting with Gulf Cooperation Council leaders.

According to American media outlet Express, Trump will meet with leaders from Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait, and Oman in New York during the upcoming United Nations General Assembly next Tuesday.

The discussions are expected to focus on U.S. plans regarding the post-conflict relationship with Iran, regional security, and economic stability.

The Trump administration is reportedly preparing a ‘day-after’ strategy to address the region’s evolving security landscape following the recent tensions.

The conflict with Iran has significantly impacted Gulf nations both militarily and economically.

Meanwhile, President Trump expressed optimism about ending the ongoing conflict, claiming that the U.S. is preparing to re-engage in negotiations with Iran.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has also expressed interest in meeting Trump in New York, though no official date has been confirmed for their discussion.
