Sep 14, Kathmandu - A Russian drone reportedly attacked a train, causing damage to its engine. The incident occurred shortly after high-ranking foreign officials traveling on a diplomatic train departed from the same area, according to Ukraine’s state railway company.

The Ukrainian Railway Company stated that on Sunday, a Russian drone targeted the engine of a train halted at Yahodyn station near the border. The attack inflicted damage on the engine, but no injuries have been reported among the diplomatic delegation onboard.

At the time of the incident, senior foreign officials, including former UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson, former Swedish Prime Minister Carl Bildt, and security advisors from various European Union member states, were traveling through the region by train. They were en route from a security conference held in Kyiv and were returning when the attack took place.

Authorities suspect the diplomatic train may have been the intended target, as it departed Yahodyn station earlier than scheduled, potentially avoiding a larger catastrophe. Ukraine’s railway officials are assessing the situation and the extent of the damage, emphasizing that no harm came to the diplomatic personnel.
