Sep 04, Kathmandu - Rescue teams are actively working to save residents affected by flooding in various parts of Nepal. According to Armed Police Force spokesperson Netra Bahadur Karki, Chandika, the wife of Anand Shrestha from house number 10 in Betrawati, Bidur Municipality, has been successfully rescued from her flood-damaged home and is being transported to Kathmandu via helicopter for further treatment.

In addition, the Nepal Army has rescued a Chinese citizen from Upper Trishuli-1, and two individuals were also saved from the tunnel at Trishuli-3A yesterday.

As rescue operations continue, disturbing reports have emerged indicating that people may still be trapped inside structures submerged by floodwaters. The rescue of Chandika Shrestha marks a significant step, but concerns remain that others may be caught in similarly precarious situations within damaged homes.

Floodwaters have caused extensive damage from Rasuwagadhi to Galundi in Dhadhing, destroying and collapsing numerous houses. Many households are reported to be partially or fully submerged, with the possibility that residents remain trapped inside these structures.

Authorities urge caution and continued vigilance as rescue efforts persist amidst the rising floodwaters and widespread destruction.
