Aug 23, Kathmandu - Chitwan police have apprehended a 45-year-old man on charges of allegedly raping his 19-year-old daughter.
According to Acting Information Officer Inspector Manish Shrestha of the District Police Office Chitwan, the victim herself approached the police station to file a complaint against her father, prompting authorities to arrest the accused on September 20th.
Police reports indicate that the man and his wife, along with their son, were living abroad in Japan, leaving the father and daughter alone at home. The victim's complaint states that the incident occurred on Shrawan 28 after the father, under the influence of alcohol, threatened and forcibly assaulted her.
The accused returned to Nepal from Japan approximately eight months ago and was reportedly preparing to return to Japan soon. Authorities have obtained an extension from the court to continue the investigation into the case.
