Garima's Parents Taken to Kathmandu to Talk to the Home Minister

Aug 22, Kathmandu - The parents of three-year-old Garima Chaudhary, who was murdered in Simara, Bara, have been taken to Kathmandu. The move comes as authorities seek to facilitate a dialogue with Home Minister Sudan Gurung regarding the case.

Garima’s father, Manoj Chaudhary, and mother, Manmati Chaudhary, were flown to Kathmandu on Saturday afternoon from Simara Airport with the assistance of local activists. They were brought to the airport by police officials from the Simara district police office, with Naya Police Inspector Daya Krishna Bhatta personally escorting them in a police vehicle and issuing boarding passes.

The parents are accompanied by a seven-member team of local activists, including Kapil Kharel, Samrat Upadhyay, and Navaraj Karki, who are traveling to Kathmandu to engage in negotiations.

Prior to their departure, Manoj Chaudhary appealed to local residents to continue their protests until justice is served for his daughter. Meanwhile, there has been unrest at Simara Airport, with locals protesting against the police and the secretive planning of the Kathmandu visit, accusing authorities of collusion in the affair.
