Aug 10, Kathmandu - Nepalese law enforcement authorities have confiscated several firearms and ammunition across different districts in a series of raids.

In Makwanpur, police recovered a pistol and a magazine from Betani Agauote, Bagmati Rural Municipality-9, on Sunday night. A team from the New Baneshwar Police Circle, dispatched from Kathmandu, detained 19-year-old Tek Bahadur Singtan from Betani Agauote during the afternoon. During questioning, Singtan revealed that he had hidden the pistol at his house. Subsequently, police officers searched his residence and found the firearm and magazine concealed in a zebra bag.

Meanwhile, in Sindhupalchowk, police recovered a single air rifle from Khaile Forest in Chautara Sangachokgadhi Municipality-3 on Sunday evening. The firearm was found during a search operation conducted by the district police.  

In Dailekh, authorities seized an illegal air rifle from Malukot Community Forest in Thatikand Rural Municipality-1 on Sunday evening.  

Additionally, in Pyuthan, five air rifles were recovered from Odhar in Jhirmuk Rural Municipality-4 during the afternoon by the Oukharbote Area Police Office. Further, in Nawalparasi, thirteen air rifles and two rifle barrels were confiscated from Dandakateri in Nabhini Rural Municipality-2 and Sunsari district's Kholsa during an operation by the Lungbahane Police.  

Police authorities have stated that investigations are ongoing into the seized weapons and those detained in connection with these cases.
