Aug 10, Kathmandu - A devastating landslide in Baguio City’s Barangay Guisad Surong in the River Side area has resulted in the death of four people and left six others missing.
According to local reports, the landslide occurred around 7 PM on Sunday evening. Thirteen individuals were caught in the disaster, and as of Monday morning, rescuers have managed to recover seven bodies from the debris.
The victims include a 17-year-old girl, two children aged nine, and a 56-year-old man. Three of the rescued individuals are receiving medical treatment at a local hospital. Despite ongoing rainfall, rescue teams continue their efforts to locate and rescue the missing persons.
In response to the disaster, 62 residents from 14 families at risk of landslides have been relocated to safer areas, while seven others have been sheltered at the local village hall.
