Aug 01, Kathmandu - The District Administration Office of Sunsari has lifted the indefinite curfew imposed across various locations in the district, effective today. The curfew was in effect since Shrawan 12 and has now been removed as of 5:00 PM this afternoon.

Chief District Officer Ishwori Prasad Aryal announced in a statement that the curfew, which was in place from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM today, has been relaxed to facilitate normal activities. However, despite the lifting of the curfew, restrictions under the Local Administration Act, 2028, remain in force to ensure peace and security.

During this period, gatherings of more than five individuals in the designated areas are strictly prohibited. The district administration has also extended prohibitory orders in specific regions, including Ward Nos. 16 and 17 of Itahari Sub-Metropolitan City along a 200-meter stretch on both sides of Mahendra Highway, Wards 1 and 5 of Ramdhuni Municipality along the same highway, and the entire areas of Inaruwa, Duhabi, Bhokraha Narasingh, Koshi, Gadhi, Dewanganj, Harinagar, and Barju.

Authorities urge residents to cooperate with the ongoing restrictions to maintain peace and safety in the district.
