Jul 30, Kathmandu - The Department of Industry has transitioned the majority of its administrative and regulatory services to a fully online system. This new initiative aims to provide clients with easier, faster, and more transparent services.

Industry, Commerce, and Supply Minister Gauri Kumar Yadav has previously directed the department to make industry administration more digital-friendly, eliminating the need for entrepreneurs to visit the department unnecessarily.

According to the department, most services—including business registration, renewal, updates, transfer of industries, capital and capacity enhancement, amendments to name and objectives, foreign investment approval, business visa recommendations, and annual progress reports—are now available online.

The department has clarified that for services included in the online system, clients no longer need to visit the office physically. Only authorized representatives of companies or industries, with proper identification, may visit in person if necessary.

Applications and documents for services processed online will no longer be registered physically. All procedures will be completed electronically, the department confirmed.

Minister Yadav, who took charge of the ministry, prioritized making industry administration technology-friendly, transparent, and results-oriented. She has continuously instructed to enhance the effectiveness of service delivery.

The department has urged entrepreneurs and business owners to utilize the online system to its fullest potential.
