Jul 24, Kathmandu - The Kathmandu District Police Office has developed criminal profiles of individuals suspected of being involved in various criminal activities. The profiles are based on an assessment of the risk of future involvement in crimes such as hooliganism, smuggling, drug trafficking, murder, fraud, theft, and heinous offenses.
According to Police Superintendent Pawan Bhattarai, a total of 1,871 individuals have been profiled so far. "The criminal profiling includes those who have previously been involved in criminal activities and are deemed capable of committing crimes again in the future," he said.
Superintendent Bhattarai explained that the profiles are created for individuals with prior criminal records who pose a significant risk of reoffending or initiating new criminal acts. The initiative aims to prevent future crimes by closely monitoring high-risk individuals.
