Jul 11, Kathmandu - Ashwin Raut, who attempted self-immolation in Buddhanagar, Kathmandu, has passed away. The 45-year-old was receiving treatment at Bir Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.

Raut was seriously injured in the incident and was admitted to the ICU at Bir Hospital for treatment. Despite medical efforts, he died during his hospital stay. His body had burns covering more than 50 percent of his surface area.

The incident has shocked the local community, raising concerns over mental health and social issues.
