Nepal Tourism Board Announces Winners of Wellness Reel Competition 2026 to Promote Holistic Tourism

Jul 10, Kathmandu - The Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) has officially announced the winners of the Wellness Reel Competition 2026, an initiative aimed at showcasing Nepal’s diverse wellness tourism experiences through creative videos. The competition saw enthusiastic participation from creators across the country, highlighting Nepal’s spiritual heritage, natural healing practices, and holistic lifestyle.

A total of 111 contestants submitted original reels depicting Nepal’s unique wellness experiences, including yoga, meditation, Ayurveda, spiritual practices, natural remedies, wellness resorts, and healthy living traditions.

The entries were judged by a panel comprising renowned filmmaker Minbahadur Bham and wellness expert Shovita Simkhada. The evaluation criteria included content relevance, messaging, impact, visual appeal, storytelling, and technical quality.

Following a unanimous decision by the jury, winners from all seven provinces were announced: Mina Kumari Raut from Koshi, Sumitra Acharya from Madhesh, Eirik Nakharmi from Bagmati, Roshan Dhakal from Gandaki, Bhaskar Maharjan from Lumbini, Santosh Buda from Karnali, and Himalaya Bhatt from Sudurpashchim. Each winner will receive a cash prize of NPR 75,000.

In addition, Asha Poudel was honored with the ‘Jury Award’ for her outstanding creative presentation, receiving NPR 25,000. Special recognition was also given to Ranjit Shrestha, Kailash Karki, Ghumante Budabudi, Kiran Adhikari, and others for their impactful storytelling and creative efforts.

NTB Acting CEO Hikmat Singh Ayer congratulated all participants, emphasizing that the enthusiastic engagement and creativity demonstrated in the competition strengthen Nepal’s position as a premier wellness tourism destination. He highlighted that each creator effectively showcased Nepal’s spiritual heritage, natural beauty, healing traditions, and healthy lifestyle to a global audience.

The Wellness Reel Competition is part of NTB’s broader efforts to leverage digital media for tourism promotion and to establish Nepal as an international wellness tourism hub. It is conducted under the ‘Hashtag PhotoNepal’ campaign, which promotes Nepal’s natural and cultural attractions through creative visual content worldwide.

The initiative underscores Nepal Tourism Board’s commitment to innovative promotion strategies, harnessing creativity to attract global tourists seeking wellness experiences.
