Govt Forms Five-Member Committee to Investigate Ganesh Nepali Self-Immolation Case

Jul 10, Kathmandu - The Nepali government has established a five-member investigation committee to look into the circumstances surrounding the self-immolation of Ganesh Nepali, according to Home Minister Sudan Gurung.

Addressing the Parliament, Minister Gurung disclosed the formation of the committee and emphasized that the incident highlights the significant role of local governments, suggesting that the federal government alone could not be solely responsible.

While responding to questions in the House today, Minister Gurung expressed deep sorrow over the tragedy, stating that despite relentless efforts, the government was unable to save Ganesh Nepali. He further highlighted that even though the federal government is in place, local and provincial governments also bear responsibility, and officials at all levels must be accountable.
