Tensions Escalate: Iran Launches Multiple Attacks on U.S. Military Bases in the Gulf Region

Jul 09, Kathmandu - Iran has conducted airstrikes across various cities in Iran for the second consecutive night. In retaliation, Iran claims to have targeted U.S. military installations and strategic assets in Bahrain, Kuwait, and Qatar.

According to Iranian officials, recent bombings by the United States have resulted in the deaths of 14 individuals and injuries to 78 others over the past two days. Explosive blasts have also been reported near the Strait of Hormuz, affecting cities such as Bushher, Chabahar, Bandar Abbas, and Sirik.

Iran announced that its attacks specifically targeted U.S. military facilities in Kuwait, Bahrain, and Qatar. The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) stated that they struck Kuwait’s Patriot air defense system, a ground satellite communication antenna in Qatar, and a fuel depot belonging to U.S. forces in Bahrain.

Iran has warned that if U.S. attacks persist, it will expand its operations to other American military sites in the Gulf region. Experts suggest that Iran’s strategy appears to be a calculated response aimed at deterring U.S. military action by increasing the costs and risks for the United States in the Gulf.

Analysts believe Tehran’s objective is to pressure the U.S. by broadening the conflict across the region, thereby making military intervention more costly and dangerous for Washington.

Kuwait Condemns Iran’s Aggression

Kuwait strongly condemned Iran’s recent attacks on its territory, describing them as a heinous act. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement condemning the strikes, warning that such actions threaten regional stability and escalate tensions dangerously.

The ministry emphasized that Kuwait’s sovereignty remains a red line and affirmed its right to take all necessary measures to defend its security and national interests. The statement further highlighted that Iran’s open aggression poses a serious threat to regional peace and undermines ongoing diplomatic efforts to de-escalate tensions.
