Jul 04, Kathmandu - A delegation from the Indian government paid their respects to Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei in Tehran. The official Indian delegation included Bihar Governor Syed Ata Hasnain and Minister of State for External Affairs Pabitra Margherita.
The Bihar Governor shared photos of the tribute ceremony on social media, accompanied by a statement. In the message, he expressed, “Along with Minister of State for External Affairs Pabitra Margherita, we represented India at the funeral ceremony of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei in Tehran and extended our deep condolences to the families of those who lost their lives in the struggle.”
Minister Margherita also posted pictures on social media, stating, “The Governor of Bihar and I represented India at the funeral of Iran’s former Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei in Tehran. We paid our respects on behalf of the Government of India and the Indian people.”
The funeral ceremony for Ali Khamenei has already begun in Tehran. Foreign guests have arrived in Tehran to participate in the final rites.
