Four Missing Persons Identified in Karnali After Vehicle Accident

Jul 03, Kathmandu - Karnali Province authorities have identified four individuals who went missing after a vehicle plunged into the Karnali River. The vehicle, which was traveling from Surkhet to Kalikot, fell approximately 400 meters down the road in Sindhupalchok Municipality-7, Sandhata, Dang.

The identified victims include driver Tulsi Ram Subedi from Maji Gaun, Panchkuti Municipality-8, Surkhet; his brother Ram Prasad Subedi; Shrijana Khadka from Raskot Municipality-2, Kalikot; and Mekha Tiruwa from Pachal Jharna Municipality-9, Kalikot.

Rescue operations have been ongoing since the incident, with Nepal Police and Armed Police utilizing divers and specialized equipment, including sonar cameras and magnets, to locate the missing.

Additionally, the body of 45-year-old Jekhe Tiruwa from Pachaljharana Municipality-9 was recovered from a cliff, where it was found trapped. His family has been informed.

The vehicle, bearing license plate number 02-001-Kha 1055, was reportedly carrying an unspecified number of passengers at the time of the accident. The authorities continue efforts to locate the remaining victims.
