Japan’s Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi Arrives in New Delhi for a Three-Day Official Visit, Strengthening Bilateral Ties

Jul 02, Kathmandu - Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi arrived in India’s capital, New Delhi, on Wednesday for a three-day official visit aimed at bolstering the strategic partnership between the two nations.

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi welcomed Takaichi, expressing his confidence that the visit would elevate bilateral relations to new heights. “Our joint efforts will contribute significantly to promoting peace, stability, and prosperity in the Indo-Pacific region and across the globe,” Modi stated on social media platform X (formerly Twitter).

Takaichi also shared her excitement about visiting India after nearly three years, noting her happiness at the opportunity to strengthen ties between the two countries.

The upcoming official talks between the two leaders are expected to focus on key issues such as semiconductor

production and supply chains, artificial intelligence (AI), advanced technology, economic cooperation, and strategic collaboration in the Indo-Pacific region.

In recent years, India and Japan have expanded their cooperation across sectors including technology, infrastructure, defense, trade, and investment. Experts suggest that during this visit, both countries may sign agreements related to high technology, digital innovation, and regional security cooperation.
