Iran’s IRGC Threatens Retaliation Following U.S. Airstrikes in Iranian Coastal Areas

Jun 27, Kathmandu - The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) of Iran has announced plans to target U.S. military installations in response to recent American airstrikes on Iranian coastal regions, according to reports by Iranian news agencies.

Meanwhile, Iran’s Islamic Consultative Assembly member Ibrahim Ajizi dismissed any commitment to a ceasefire with the United States, criticizing the ongoing blame game and stating that such tactics will be ineffective moving forward.

On social media platform X, Ajizi confirmed that the U.S. conducted renewed attacks on Iran despite ongoing negotiations. He criticized American President Joe Biden’s apparent lack of commitment to dialogue or a ceasefire, emphasizing that the U.S. shows no genuine intention to de-escalate tensions.

In contrast, U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris stated that if there are disagreements over the implementation of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Iran, consultations could be held over the phone. Harris emphasized respect for Iran’s signing of the ceasefire agreement, but maintained that any disagreements should be resolved through dialogue, asserting that conflict must be confronted with strength.

Previously, U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio expressed pride in the historic tripartite framework agreement signed between Israel and Lebanon. On X, Rubio highlighted America’s commitment to peace, prosperity, and mutual coexistence, acknowledging that much work remains to be done.

The Iranian IRGC’s operational command center, coordinating with Iran’s regular military, the Khatam al-Anbia Central Headquarters, issued a statement through military spokesperson Ibrahim al-Fakhar, warning of a strong response to the recent U.S. attacks.
