Jun 26, Kathmandu - Chartered with the goal of strengthening party organization, amplifying alternative politics, and institutionalizing protest agendas, Asim Shah, a key political advisor to Prime Minister Balen Shah, has officially submitted his candidacy for the position of Deputy General Secretary of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP). The nomination was registered during the party's first convention in Chitwan.
Nisha Mehta, the Minister of Health, proposed Shah's candidacy, while Gyanendra Malla has shown support for his bid.
Following the Gen-Z movement, which sparked political transformation, Asim Shah played a crucial role in fostering cooperation between then Kathmandu Mayor Balen Shah and the RSP. Currently, he is also heading the task force formed by the Prime Minister to suggest constitutional amendments.
