Nepal MP Demands Free Access to World Cup for All Citizens

Jun 16, Kathmandu - Member of Parliament Pramesh Kumar Hamal has urged the government to arrange free viewing of the upcoming World Cup for all citizens. Speaking during today's House of Representatives session, he expressed concern over the high cost of access.

"World Cup is also a matter of interest for me. Young people are especially eager to watch it. However, it costs 999 rupees. It's a monopoly," he stated. "Many people can't reach it even when they want to."

Hamal called on service providers to make the event accessible for free. "Now, it should be possible! They must have earned enough to offer it for free," he added. He further appealed to the government to broadcast the World Cup free of charge on national television channels.

"Watching the World Cup on television should not cost 999 rupees," he emphasized.
