Those seeking leadership for parliamentary opportunities should be eliminated from the convention: Lamichhane

Jun 06, Kathmandu - Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) Chairman Ravbi Lamichhane has said that those who open themselves up to take leadership for parliamentary opportunities should be eliminated from the convention.

Writing on social media in the context of the district convention to be held today and tomorrow (Jestha 23 and 24), he told party workers this. ‘There has sometimes been a tendency to sacrifice themselves for leadership with the intention of getting parliamentary opportunities in the future while holding party responsibilities. Reducing such tendencies through the democratic process of the convention itself is the need of the day,’ Lamichhane said.

He said that the convention and general convention are not just the process of selecting leadership, but also a historic opportunity to build the eternal life, methods, practices and healthy traditions of the party. He also said that the convention will provide clear guidelines for the upcoming journey.

For the paramount interest of the party, competent, honest and people-friendly leadership is necessary at every level. Lamichhan said that it is our tradition to select leadership by adopting democratic methods such as dialogue, consensus and internal elections, and that the party will become stronger and more mature through this process.
