Nepali Congress Parliament Protest, Boycotts Committee Meetings Over Prime Minister's Remarks

Jun 02, Kathmandu - The main opposition party, Nepali Congress, has announced a continued protest in Parliament, including boycotting parliamentary committee meetings. Congress parliamentary leader Bishmaraj Angdembe stated that their obstruction will persist until Prime Minister Balen Shah apologizes.

The protest was sparked after Prime Minister Shah claimed in Parliament that Nepal had encroached on Indian territory, prompting calls for an apology from Congress.

Additionally, Congress raised objections during Tuesday's House session over the imposition of parliamentary rules they deemed illegal to prioritize MPs over laws. As part of their protest strategy, Congress has also decided to boycott meetings of parliamentary committees.
