Jun 02, Kathmandu - Birgunj Mayor Rajesh Man Singh has been ordered to be released on bail by the Parsa District Court. The single-judge bench led by Judge Gayatri Prasad Regmi issued the bail order on Tuesday.

The court instructed that Singh be released on a bail of NPR 15,000 in connection with a case related to forged documents and false statements. According to court spokesperson Jay Narayan Yadav, the court directed the bail during proceedings over allegations involving written falsification.

Mayor Singh was detained earlier today in Thori by police. The Parsa District Court had issued a warrant for his arrest on Jestha 12.

Liyakhat Ali from Birgunj-3 had filed a complaint with the District Police Office of Parsa in Magh 2080, accusing Mayor Singh of document forgery and citizenship fraud.
