Jun 02, Kathmandu - Nepali Congress parliamentary leader Bhishmaraj Angdembe clarified that the party has not established a ‘shadow cabinet’.
According to Angdembe, the appointment of subject-specific committee coordinators based on 18 ministries, as per the party’s parliamentary rules, should not be interpreted as forming a ‘shadow government’ or ‘shadow cabinet’.
“Our allocation of responsibilities across ministries includes both House of Representatives and National Assembly members, aiming to make parliamentary work more effective. It is not about creating an alternative parallel structure to the government,” Angdembe explained.
While the term ‘shadow government’ has historically been used in Nepali politics, he emphasized that the Nepali Congress has not built any such structure currently.
