Jun 01, Kathmandu - Nepali Congress Chairman Gagan Kumar Thapa has condemned Prime Minister Balendra Shah’s recent statements in Parliament, calling them "reprehensible and objectionable."
Thapa, during an event organized by the Nepali Congress Central Policy, Research, and Training Institute in Lumbini, announced that the party would fully oppose the Prime Minister’s remarks.
"Regarding sensitive issues like border disputes, Nepal has established positions, assertions, and evidence," Thapa stated. "The Prime Minister’s comments have undermined these efforts."
He criticized the Prime Minister for weakening Nepal’s diplomatic stance with neighboring countries through his statements.
"If the Prime Minister spoke without understanding, that is concerning," Thapa added. "If he spoke after thorough consideration, it is even more dangerous."
Thapa urged the Prime Minister to apologize for his comments, emphasizing the need for him to stand in Parliament and speak responsibly.
