May 24, Kathmandu - Police recovered a young man in an unconscious state near the bus park in Mechinagar Municipality-6, Jhapa, along with over 118,000 rupees in cash.
According to Kankadbhitta Area Police Office Deputy Superintendent Khagendra Bahadur Khadka, 32-year-old Hari Thapa from Rampur Rural Municipality-2, Palpa, was found in a semi-conscious state on Saturday evening around 6 PM, after consuming excessive intoxicants. The police team swiftly responded and brought him to safety.
Following the rescue, Thapa was immediately taken to Aama Hospital in Dhulabari for treatment. Police sources state that Thapa has been discharged from the hospital and has not yet contacted authorities.
The recovered cash has been secured at the Kankadbhitta Police Office. Efforts to contact Thapa via his mobile phone have so far been unsuccessful, the police said.
Once contact is established, the police have assured that the money will be handed over to him. Thapa had purchased a ticket to Kathmandu via Nepal-India bus services on Saturday night, intending to return to Nepal from India, but his journey was interrupted due to his intoxicated state.
