May 22, Kathmandu - Nepal has set a monumental target for the United States in the ongoing tri-series at TU Ground, as part of the ICC World Cup League-2. In the final match of the series, Nepal posted a formidable total of 317 runs after winning the toss and opting to bat first.
This score is Nepal's second-highest in One Day International (ODI) history. On June 2025, Nepal scored 323 runs against Scotland in League-2, which remains their record for the highest ODI total.
Ishan Pandey led the batting charge with a top score of 84 runs off 83 balls, smashing 8 fours and 1 six. Making his debut against the USA in this series, Ishan has already scored his second half-century.

In bowling, the United States' Shubham Ranjane took 3 wickets, while Rashil Ugarakar and Milind Kumar each claimed one wicket.
Nepal previously defeated the USA by 9 wickets in their earlier league match.
Currently, the USA and Scotland occupy the top two spots in the League-2 standings. With this victory, Nepal has climbed two places, moving from seventh to fifth, overtaking Canada and Namibia, thanks to their win against Scotland.
To qualify for the ICC Cricket World Cup and retain ODI status, Nepal must win all remaining matches and stay within the top six in the league standings.
