Nepali Congress Leader Urges Rapid Progress on Dailkeh Petroleum Excavation Project

May 19, Kathmandu - Nepali Congress Chief Whip Basana Thapa emphasized the need for the government to accelerate the ongoing petroleum excavation project in Dailkeh. During an inter-party dialogue, Thapa highlighted that the stalled upgrade of the Surkhet-Dailkeh road has adversely affected the petroleum exploration efforts.

Thapa stressed that this ambitious project, which has the potential to transform the country's economy and benefit Nepali consumers for over 50 years, must be prioritized by the government. She also assured support for positive policies within the government's agenda.

Addressing rumors of internal divisions within the Nepali Congress, Thapa clarified that the party remains united and dismissed claims of fragmentation. She described the internal debates as a natural part of democratic processes, emphasizing the beauty of the party and democracy itself.
