May 09, Kathmandu - The Nepali Congress is set to hold a provincial-level gathering in Dhangadhi today (Saturday), focusing on local and provincial issues in Sudurpaschim Province, following their major convention. This event is part of the party’s ‘Root Campaign’ launched by the Nepali Congress.
Gagan Thapa, the chairperson of the conference, arrived in Dhangadhi a short while ago to inaugurate the program. He was welcomed by Sudurpaschim Province Chief Minister Kamal Bahadur Shah, Interior and Law Minister Shivraj Bhatta, and State Minister for Finance Prakash Bahadur Bam, who all arrived at the airport. Notably, these leaders are considered close to party leader Sher Bahadur Deuba.
Prakash Rasaili, Deputy General Secretary of the Nepali Congress, expressed confidence that the event will be highly fruitful for Sudurpaschim Province. Leaders and representatives from hill districts as well as from Kailali and Kanchanpur districts are attending the gathering.
On the first day, Thapa is scheduled to hold discussions with provincial government members, provincial assembly members, professors, and other stakeholders. In the evening, party leaders will discuss current political issues and the party’s state.
The second day will feature interactions with provincial assembly members, municipal chiefs, deputy chiefs, chairpersons, and vice-chairpersons, with Nepali Congress Vice President Bishwa Prakash Sharma also expected to attend.
