Nepal’s First-Ever Electric Scooter ‘P2’ Under Road Tests Across the Country

May 04, Kathmandu - Nepal’s first domestically manufactured electric scooter, ‘P2,’ is currently undergoing road testing at various locations across the country. Developed through a joint investment by Sipradi Trading and Yatri Motorcycles, the scooter is being trialed on different terrains to ensure its performance and durability.

Recently, ‘P2’ was spotted testing on the challenging Kulekhani-Deurali uphill road. The company has previously conducted extensive trials, covering over 7,000 kilometers across more than a dozen locations within Nepal.

Based on public images, ‘Yatri P2’ features a design reminiscent of a motorcycle, making it stand out from conventional scooters. It is equipped with 14-inch wheels, a mid-mount motor, and LED headlamps. However, the company has not yet disclosed details regarding the motor power and battery capacity.

While an official launch date for ‘P2’ has not been announced, industry insiders expect it to hit the market soon, given the ongoing extensive testing.

Notably, the entire design and development of ‘Yatri P2’ have been carried out within Nepal. The Yatri Design Studio, which previously launched ‘Yatri P0’ and ‘Yatri P1’ motorcycles, has established a new identity in the Nepali automotive sector with these innovative products.
