May 03, Kathmandu - Ward office of Jaimini Municipality-3 has finally received its own new building after years of operating out of a dilapidated rented space. The three-room building, constructed at a cost of NPR 10 million, marks a significant milestone in improving local administrative services.
For a long time, the ward office served residents from a deteriorating community forest users' committee building. The new office construction was made possible through generous land donations from local families—Krishna Bahadur Chhantyal, Chandra Bahadur Pandey, Indrakali Pun, and Mohan Pun—who provided 10 ropani of land valued at NPR 10 million free of charge, according to Ward Chairman Krishna Bahadur Bhujel.
"Until now, we had to operate from a community forest building, which caused many difficulties," Bhujel stated. "With the new building, we are preparing to shift on Baisakh 23, and residents will benefit from better services."
Harihar Sharma, Deputy Mayor of Jaimini Municipality, assured that all ward offices will be organized efficiently to improve service delivery. Most ward office buildings are currently under construction or renovation.
