Over 2,100 Violations Recorded in 24 Hours, Traffic Fines Boost State Revenue

May 03, Kathmandu - In the past 24 hours, a total of 2,111 traffic violations have been recorded, generating revenue of NPR 565,000 for the state treasury.

According to the Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police Office, enforcement actions were taken against 109 individuals for substance abuse, 184 for illegal ride-sharing, 103 for traffic signal violations, and 222 for speeding violations.

Additionally, 138 drivers were fined for lane discipline violations, 67 for honking in restricted areas, 86 for parking on roadsides, 42 for illegal passenger pick-up and drop-off, and 1,160 others for various traffic rule violations.
