President's message on Press Freedom Day: Emphasis on truthful and impartial journalism

May 03, Kathmandu - Nepal's President Ram Chandra Poudel has extended his best wishes to all journalists and Nepalese citizens on the occasion of World Press Freedom Day. 

In his message, President Poudel emphasized the importance of free and impartial journalism in delivering truthful information. He highlighted that press freedom is a cornerstone of democracy and plays a vital role in informing and educating the public.

The President also recalled that the constitution guarantees freedom of the press and expression, stressing the need to create a safe environment for journalists to work freely.

Furthermore, he urged everyone to be cautious of misleading information spreading through social media and to prioritize sharing accurate, verified, and trustworthy news.
