May 02, Kathmandu - Amitabh Kant, a renowned Indian policy and planning expert, emphasized that Nepal and India are mutually complementary in fostering economic development. He shared these insights during the Saturday Business Gulf and Economic Dialogue.
Kant highlighted that a stable, prosperous, and sovereign Nepal aligns with India's national interests. He pointed out that a strong and dynamic India offers new opportunities for Nepal in trade, investment, energy services, and technology sectors.
"Trade and investment underline the depth of our economic relationship," Kant stated. "India is Nepal's largest trading partner, primary export market, and a key transit route for trade with third countries."
He also noted that Indian companies are at the forefront of investing in Nepal, further strengthening bilateral ties.
Kant emphasized that the relationship between India and Nepal extends beyond geography to include faith, culture, family ties, commerce, and language. Additionally, he highlighted that pilgrimage sites, rivers, and open borders deepen the emotional bond between the two nations.
