Nepal Sets Challenging Target of 290 Runs Against UAE in ICC World Cup League-2 Tri Series

May 01, Kathmandu - Nepal posted a formidable target of 290 runs against the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in the ICC World Cup League-2 tri-series.

Winning the toss and opting to bat at the Tribhuvan University Cricket Ground on Friday, Nepal’s Dipendra Singh Airee delivered an outstanding century. Facing 94 balls, Airee smashed 13 fours and one six to power his team into a strong position.

Earlier in the series, Airee scored 75 runs against UAE in the first match and contributed 60 runs in the game against Oman.

Opener Binod Bhandari provided a solid start with 56 runs, while captain Rohan Poudel added 39 runs. Debutants Arjun Kumal and Arif Shaikh scored 11 runs each.

Gulsan Jha, coming in at number seven, played an aggressive innings in the death overs, scoring a crucial 44 runs.

Meanwhile, Bhim Sarki and Sompal Kami couldn’t make significant contributions.

Nepal’s total was bolstered by Airee’s century, Bhandari’s half-century, and Jha’s aggressive batting in the final overs, making the target a challenging one for UAE.
