Student Develops Offline PDF Management App 'PDF Craft' in Ilam

Apr 30, Kathmandu - Mausam Bhattarai, a third-semester BSc CSIT student at Sushma Godawari College in Itahari, has launched a mobile app called 'PDF Craft: PDF Editor & Tools' to make PDF document management easier. Bhattarai developed this app while learning app development skills, and it is now available on the Google Play Store.

He believes that this app can help students and professionals who regularly deal with PDFs by providing a single platform to address common issues.

Unlike many existing PDF tools that require uploading files to the cloud or external servers, 'PDF Craft' works entirely offline. All processes are completed locally on the user's device, ensuring maximum privacy and security. “PDFs often contain important and confidential documents. Many online tools upload files to external servers, but my app keeps everything on your phone. Since the documents don't leave your device, users can use it with confidence regarding privacy,” Bhattarai said.

With this app, users can merge multiple PDFs into one, split large files into specific pages, compress files without losing quality, and convert images into PDFs. It also includes advanced features such as digital signatures, watermarks, and page rearrangement.

Bhattarai designed the app based on the problems he faced while working on college projects and assignments. The app is lightweight, with a size of only 10MB, making it easy to use.

Currently available for free, the app does not collect any unauthorized data nor display ads, Bhattarai assured. He plans to add features like Word and Excel converters and AI tools in the future to make it more modern. “Since I am still a student, I cannot promote it as a paid app. But if users support and provide feedback, it will motivate me to develop more innovative tools,” he added.
