UAE Sets 269-Run Target Against Oman in ICC World Cup League-2

Apr 27, Kathmandu - Inspired by Aryan Sharma’s century, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has posted a target of 269 runs against Oman in the ICC World Cup League-2.

After losing the toss and batting first at the Tribhuvan University Cricket Ground, UAE scored 266 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in their allotted 50 overs. Aryan Sharma played a heroic innings, scoring a century off 125 balls with 10 fours and four sixes. This is Sharma’s first century in One Day International (ODI) cricket.

In partnership, Aryan Sharma and Adib Usmani added 163 runs for the first wicket, providing a solid start for UAE. Adib scored 64 runs off 76 balls, hitting four fours and two sixes. Harpreet Singh Bhatia contributed 54 runs with five fours and one six, while Mohammad Shahdad added 25 runs.

For Oman, Siddharth Bupathnam and Shah Faisal took two wickets each, while Sakil Ahmed claimed one wicket. Oman aims to start the series with a victory. Having played 24 matches, Oman currently sits in third place with 29 points.

UAE is also looking to secure their first win of the series. They suffered a 37-run defeat against Nepal in their opening match. After 21 games, UAE is at the bottom of the standings with 10 points.
