Apr 26, Kathmandu - U.S. President Donald Trump has issued a stern warning to Iran, giving the country a three-day deadline to agree to a ceasefire and end hostilities. He warned that if Iran does not comply, there could be an explosion in Iran’s oil pipelines.
In an interview with Fox News, Trump stated that if Iran is unable to export oil, pressure within the pipeline would significantly increase. He explained that this situation arises when the pathways for shipping oil, either by ship or storage tanks, are blocked, or when sanctions are imposed.
Trump further warned that sudden halts in oil flow could lead to increased pressure inside the pipelines due to technical and natural reasons, potentially causing pipelines to rupture. He emphasized that once such damage occurs, restoring the pipelines to their original condition would be nearly impossible, and their capacity would be greatly diminished.
Meanwhile, Iran has taken a firm stance regarding potential negotiations with the United States. The Iranian government has explicitly stated that it will not engage in any agreements concerning its nuclear program and the Strait of Hormuz. According to Iranian state media, this message has been conveyed to the U.S. through Pakistan. Iran has labeled both issues as its "red lines," indicating that no negotiations are possible on these matters.
Furthermore, Iran clarified that there are no formal talks underway, describing recent diplomatic efforts as mere expressions of its position. Iranian Foreign Minister Abdollahian stated that Iran is managing these issues within responsible boundaries.
