Nepal Sets 201-Runs Target Against UAE in ICC Cricket World Cup League 2

Apr 25, Kathmandu - In a thrilling match of ICC Cricket World Cup League 2, Nepal has set a target of 201 runs against the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

Inspired by a half-century from vice-captain Dipendra Singh Airee, Nepal posted a total of 200 runs for the loss of all wickets in 48.2 overs. Airee’s resilient innings included 75 runs off 90 balls, featuring five fours and two sixes. He shared a 42-run partnership with Karan KC for the eighth wicket, helping Nepal regain momentum after a shaky start.

Openers Kushal Bhurtel contributed 24 runs, while Karan KC scored 22. Bashir Ahmad added 20, and Arif Sheikh and Sompal Kami scored 15 each. Bhim Sarki chipped in with 10 runs to round out Nepal’s total.

UAE’s bowlers Ajay Kumar and Junaid Siddiqui claimed three wickets each, while Tanveer picked up two. Haider Ali and Muhammad Shahdad took one wicket apiece, as both teams aim for an early victory in this crucial fixture.

Currently, both teams are struggling in League 2 standings. Nepal sits seventh with 12 points after 20 matches, five wins and 13 losses, with two matches abandoned. UAE, with 10 points, is eighth, having played 20 games with five wins and 15 losses.
