Nepal ‘A’ Sets Target of 285 Runs Against Oman in Tri-Nation Series

Apr 24, Kathmandu - Nepal ‘A’ team has set a target of 285 runs against Oman in the ongoing One Day International (ODI) series, which also features the USA and Scotland. On Friday, (Baisakh 11), after winning the toss at the Upper Cricket Ground in Mulpani, Kathmandu, Nepal’s ‘A’ team posted a total of 284 runs for the loss of seven wickets in 50 overs.

Ishan Pandey contributed with a half-century, scoring 69 runs off 78 balls with six fours. Dev Khanal also played a pivotal role, scoring an impressive 64 runs off 95 balls, including five fours. Kushal Malla added 57 runs, smashing four fours and a six off 32 balls.

Openers Arjun Kumal, Sandip Jora, and Santosh Yadav scored 13, 42, and 15 runs respectively. 

Oman’s bowlers, including Jitendra Ramananandi, took two wickets, while Shakeel Ahmed, Nadeem Khan, Wasim Ali, and Siddharth Bukkapatnam each claimed one wicket.

Nepal is aiming to open their account with a win in this match. In their previous encounter on the same ground, Oman defeated the host team by 71 runs. Oman is now eager for their second consecutive victory.

This series has been organized as a prelude to the ICC Cricket World Cup League-2. Nepal is scheduled to face Oman again on April 29 and May 5 as part of the League-2 fixtures.
