Nepali Congress to Elect Parliamentary Leader Today Amidst Internal Candidacies

Apr 24, Kathmandu - The Nepali Congress is set to elect its parliamentary leader today, nearly two months after the conclusion of the House of Representatives elections. The election process aims to select the new leader of the party's parliamentary group.

According to the schedule, candidate nominations will open at 3:00 PM, with the final list of candidates to be published at 4:40 PM. Voting is scheduled to take place from 5:00 PM onwards.

Several prominent leaders, including Arjun Narsingh KC, Bhishmaraj Angdembe, Mohan Acharya, and Nischal Rai, have expressed their candidacies for the position. In the recent federal elections held on Falgun 21, the Nepali Congress secured 38 seats in the House of Representatives.

Meanwhile, Congress MPs have approved and sent the party’s internal regulations for the parliamentary group to the party’s central committee for final endorsement.
