PM Balen Shah Holds Key Discussions with University Vice Chancellors on Reforms and Future Plans

Apr 20, Kathmandu - Prime Minister Balen Shah convened a crucial meeting with vice chancellors of universities and prestigious institutions today at the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers Office in Singha Durbar. The discussion focused on addressing current challenges faced by universities and institutions, as well as exploring solutions to enhance higher education.

As part of government reforms under the 100-point agenda, officials revealed plans to remove student organizations from university campuses and replace the Student Union with a Student Council or Voice of Students. The government also announced that the Prime Minister will serve as the Chancellor of universities, aiming to strengthen administrative oversight and governance.

The meeting marks a significant step toward modernizing and reforming Nepal's higher education sector.
