Federal Ministry Seeks Public Input on Redrawing Village, Municipality, and Ward Boundaries

Apr 18, Kathmandu - The Ministry of Federal Affairs and General Administration has called for suggestions and opinions regarding the reorganization of village, municipal, and ward boundaries. On Baisakh 3, the ministry sent letters to all District Coordination Committees, local levels, and stakeholders to gather feedback.

Additionally, the ministry has requested the District Coordination Committee Federation, Nepal Municipality Association, and Village Municipality National Federation to facilitate and understand the ongoing process.

According to the ministry, a preliminary draft has been prepared to review and revise the number and boundaries of villages, municipalities, and wards, as well as the potential merging of villages and municipalities, in accordance with Sections 3, 5, 6, 7, and 8 of the Local Government Operation Act, 2074.

The ministry has urged all concerned parties to submit their suggestions via email within three days.
