Apr 18, Kathmandu - In recent events following the Israeli military offensive and ceasefire, at least 14 people have lost their lives, with numerous others injured.
According to the National News Agency, just before the ceasefire was implemented in Tire City, Israeli airstrikes resulted in the recovery of 13 bodies from the debris and the rescue of 35 injured individuals. Rescue teams report that approximately 15 people are still missing, and efforts to locate them continue.
These attacks highlight the intense violence that occurred in the final hours before the ceasefire.
In a separate incident, an explosive device left behind by Israeli forces detonated in Mijdal Salem, killing a young boy and injuring another. This explosion is considered a hazardous remnants of the conflict zone following the ceasefire.
Meanwhile, the Lebanese army has deployed a special unit to reopen the Kasmiya coastal defense bridge near Tire, which was damaged in Israeli attacks on Thursday. The military has increased its presence in the area to ensure security.
Additionally, Hezbollah claims to have conducted over 2,100 military operations against Israeli targets over the past 45 days, indicating that tensions between the two sides remain high despite the ceasefire.
A 10-day ceasefire began late Thursday into Friday, following announcements by U.S. President Donald Trump. The primary aim of this ceasefire is to end over a month of intense violence between Israel and Hezbollah, which has resulted in over 2,000 fatalities so far.
